I wanted my magazine genre to be Hip Hop due to the fact that it`s one of my favourite music genres and includes many artists that I like. I also chose Hip Hop because there's a lot to talk about such as stereotypes and clothing etc. The urban movement also commonly known as "Hip Hop" was introduced during the 1970`s which developed in South Bronx in New York City. It focused mainly on; breakdancing, house parties and MCing. It became popular outside the African-American community in the late 1980`s and by the 2000`s was one of the top music genres. With Hip Hop also brought B-boying, Graffiti/ Art and DJ-ing. The origins of Hip Hop were the "Ghetto Brothers" who had house parties and music to release racial tension in the area. Soon after Hip Hop came rap ( a rhythmic style of chanting poetry and also beat-boxing, which imitated beats and noises often created by DJ`s on two turntables. Friday, 23 September 2016
